The CVFB was so happy to have the Poker Run back this year!

2021 was the third year for the Poker Run. The first year, in 2019, the Poker Run drew 45 teams. Last year, there was just under 150.  This year we had 87 cars participate in the event.  Unfortunately the show and shine was cancelled again due to the pandemic.

The Poker Run is a rally-style event in which teams drive in their cars to various points in the valley (this year the points were Edgewater, two in Radium, three in Invermere, and one in Fairmont) and at each stop, they picked up a playing card. The team with the best poker hand of playing cards when they finish is the winner.

Prizes were given for first, second and third place teams.

It was lots of fun meeting the participants and checking out their vehicles!  We met folks from as Far East as Selkirk, Manitoba and as far west as Sicamous.

We would like to thank Katie Wallace and her team for organizing such an awesome event.  Particularly this year with the extra “hurdles” to jump over due to Covid 19.

All the funds raised are split between the car club and food bank.  THANK YOU!

We would also like to thank the CVFB Volunteers: Myron and Nesta Becker, Eileen Bilodeau, Steve and Lori Ladas, Jim and Lawanda Neilsen.

See you all back here next year!
