The Columbia Valley Food Bank
Proudly displaying our supporters which we would not exist without them.
Food banks and local supporters are on the front lines making sure people get essential food support in their time of need.
As our local citizens sit down to enjoy their meals, many of our neighbors don’t know where their next meal will come from. In fact, in Invermere alone, there are an average of 237 visits to food bank each month. But despite the critical need for these organizations, food banks don’t receive any direct government funding and rely almost entirely on community donations.
Those community donations and support are sponsored by local businesses and local activities.
Local merchants such as Red Apple and Inspire Floral Designs organize in store collection/donation events.
Joe’s NoFrills, Sobey’s, and AG Foods are involved in corporate initiatives which benefit the Food Bank. The latter 3 merchants, as well as Red Apple and Mountainside Market in Radium, have donation boxes on-site where donations may be dropped off.
Other businesses, community groups, service organizations, churches and individuals develop novel ways to collect goods and cash.
